The small tea 'plantation'
The 4 acres behind the house produce about 600kg of tea per month. You can see the tea being plucked on a Thursday and Friday. The tea is taken to a local co-operative factory to be processed. Also visit the nearby Handunugoda Tea Estate.

The UK Foreign Office does not currently advise against travel to Sri Lanka and our experience is that Sri Lanka is still a fabulous place to visit. You will need to be aware that petrol is currently rationed, so that transport can be a bit more expensive than before and driver organised tours need a special permit to allow for additional petrol consumption.
